With so many summer activities and camps within the Annapolis, MD area it can be extremely difficult to decide which camp is best for you and your child. Well let me help you make a decision. Over the past couple of summers our Team Randori Young Dragons Summer Program has been consistently KID approved. Kids simply rave not only about how much fun they have but also about how much they learn by way of Martial Arts and Self Defense. You see kids learning real life self-defense and martial arts techniques that they can apply in dangerous real world scenarios will ensure their safety. You see we teach techniques that help them escape from a physical altercation and smart cues to avoid compromising scenarios. These skills that your child will learn are simply invaluable to their safety and long term self-esteem. Through this process your child’s confidence will certainly increase!
Keeping your child interested and engaged.
You see no matter the age or competency of you child we disguise the training as games that mimic martial arts techniques. The objective of the games is so they can incorporate the techniques they’ve learned in a fun playful manner. You see this keeps them interested and hungry for learning.
We design the Camps with 3 specific life skills in mind.
- Self Confidence
- Self-Control
- Social Skill Development
Self Confidence.
Of all the skills this is the most critical. A child who has no confidence will not succeed in life. The activities, techniques and games that we have them perform are designed to progressively become more and more challenging. As you child achieves goals through the exertion of effort and achievement of goals your child will develop the habit of continuous success through little steps and progressions. We encourage them until they succeed as to help them become competent in the martial artist. The increase in your child’s self-confidence will have a cross over effect in other areas of their development. As they face life challenges, both physical and mental, their levels of confidence will be higher and met with much less fear.
Self-Control.
Self-control is second on our list. The ability to control one’s thoughts, actions and emotions are often overlooked these days, of which on occasion causes our children to make a decision that impacts them for the rest of their lives. In our program your child will learn respect for their ability and the arts in that being that they may be capable of hurting someone else, they must restrain from doing so unless the situation warrants their Martial Arts Skills. Learning this your child will be able to take this skill and apply it outside of our program. They will be able to go to school and know that self-control ultimately means that even if he/she may feel like doing something, they know when to hold back.
Social Skill Development.
Our classes are designed to have about 20 to 30 students in each program. We limit the programs to this number as that our instructor to student ratios are 1 to 4. We feel that this is a good number that will enable the instructors to have intimate up close and personal instruction time with your child, all the while in a group setting. You see programs that have higher ratios result in your child not receiving the quality of instruction and not being able to actively express their thoughts, concerns or question techniques as to learn. You see they actually get lost in the crowd. For a child who is shy and not expressive being in a crowd is a nightmare.
